Are these goals that you set every year but can’t seem to achieve them? I’ve been there. I fought obesity for years. I couldn’t achieve that dream weight.

I’ve set and achieved many of my goals. But this one goal eluded me for the longest time. I felt like a fraud. Here I was successful at my career, my family and had great friends. I just couldn’t lose weight. How can I be the great Goal Getter I talk about? I felt like a failure. I finally took the advice I give my clients and that changed my life.

I lost over 100 pounds and I am now in a great relationship and feel better than I did when I was 30. I’ve been working with clients and corporations for 15 years on high-performance goal achievement for over 15 years. I’ve been working with the programs I use to help my clients and corporations for 30 years. 
 
I began my journey working in the warehouse for a major financial software firm. I had no college degree, had worked several minimum wage jobs, and jobs I didn’t really want but took because I had to pay the bills.
 
I had limiting beliefs that developed from an early age. When I started researching high-performance leaders and how they achieved their success, I learned that almost all had clearly defined, written goals. I also learned they took action on those goals and worked with coaches and masterminds. They were committed to their success. 
 
I left the warehouse job and progressed through the company, started a consulting practice and eventually achieved my dream career of being the Chief Information Officer for large mortgage companies. Each time, I achieved one of my goals I also doubled my income. 
 
Dr. Gail Matthews at Dominican University ran a study to see if writing down goals, finding accountability and making a commitment really worked.  Upon completion of her study, she stated:
“My study provides empirical evidence for the effectiveness of three coaching tools: accountability, commitment, and writing down one’s goals.”
Her study substantiated the tools that we use in our coaching and consulting practice. The tools that we use to help you get the goals you set. Our Goal Getting™ program uses proven strategies and techniques.
Last year I finally made a commitment to set and achieve a personal goal of reaching a goal weight that I had 30 years ago when I earned my first black belt in martial arts. I had let my health go while I worked on achieving my career and family goals. I stepped on the scale one day and saw 300 pounds. I carried that around for several years, trying diet after diet, losing some weight and finding it later. Last year I was heading back up to 300 pounds and decided it was not time to make a commitment to my wellness. I set out my action plan using the tools I provide my clients. I told my network of friends and colleagues what I was doing and found an accountability partner. I set a realistic goal to release the weight by the end of December 2018.  My accountability partner checked in with me to ensure I was following my plan.
 
I achieved my goal 3 months early.
